The expert revealed whether the returning foreign brands will be popular.
Foreign brands, upon their return to Russia, will be popular and in demand among buyers. This was stated by the director of the shopping center department at Becar Asset Management, Alexey Popikov. In his opinion, on the one hand, it is worth considering that brands showed their position when they decided to leave Russia.
"But on the other hand, business is business, and everyone earns as they can and where they can. Russia is always open, and since we have been accustomed to Western brands for decades, I think the end consumer will only be happy about their return. As practice shows, when visiting other countries, our citizens usually visit stores of brands that have left Russia," the expert noted in a conversation with "Petersburg Diary."
However, economist Nikolay Kulbaka, in a conversation with "Evening Moscow," expressed doubts about the imminent return of foreign companies. According to him, there are at least two factors that make this process difficult: high risks of doing business in Russia and the lack of prospects for lifting sanctions.
"All this together makes the question of return very complicated. Moreover, many of these companies lost their assets when leaving Russia. And getting back into a country where the risks are very high is no longer as interesting for them," Kulbaka emphasized.
